Thriving is more than just surviving; it's growing, prospering, and flourishing. This day-long event explores how communities, organizations, and individuals can thrive mentally, physically, and artistically. Attendees will have opportunities to hear and discuss "ideas worth spreading" from innovators in well-being, creative cultures, sustainability and lifelong learning. What is TEDx?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxSoCal, where x=independently organized TED event. Atour TEDxSoCal event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized. Learn more about TEDx.
TEDxSoCal at the Center Theatre in Long Beach
The intimate Center Theatre at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center is home to the TED University sessions during the annual TED Conference.Join us in beautiful downtown Long Beach on Saturday July 16, 2011 for a day filled with short talks, performances, pre-recorded TEDTalks and an evening reception where participants will continue to interact and engage the ideas of the event.
